Darren's acting career started early in life at La Mama Theatre in Adelaide. From there he travelled the globe and settled for a while in LA where he then attended the Theatre of Arts. During this time in the USA he sold tickets for The Laugh Factory and was employed as an extra in Hollywood productions. Sure it wasn't the glamourous life, but he did get to see some of the greatest film actors work in front of him. If you look close enough, you may even see him. There was Jack Nicholson as 'Hoffa', Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston in 'The Bodyguard', Mel Gibson in 'Lethal Weapon 3', Robert Redford, Demi Moore, Woody Harrelson in 'Indecent Proposal', Michael Douglas in 'Falling Down' to name a few.

In the world of television he can be spotted in the background of shows such as: Beverly Hills 90210, Columbo, LA Law, Quantum Leap (where he became SAG eligible), Days of Our Lives, Murder She Wrote, Babylon 5, Wings, and filled in as Bob Saget's double on Full House. He also got to appear in a couple of Music Videos, the most notable being Guns'n'Roses', November Rain.

Commercials he has appeared in include; Mentos Mints, Pepsi Cola, Mercedes Benz (USA), Sydney Morning Herald, McDonalds (Olympics) (AUS).

Back on Australian television Darren has appeared on: Talking Comics with Dazz and Gazz, Dazz and Gazz Radio Show On TV (TVS/AURORA), rove (Ch10), Stand Up Australia (The Comedy Channel), Russell Gilbert Show (Ch9), In Melbourne Tonight (Ch9), Spin (Ch10)

In 2006, The Dazz and Gazz Radio Show on TV was beamed out on CH31 in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. The show was set in a Radio Studio with the comedic pieces seperated by music videos made exclusively for the program. Dazz and Gazz managed to score some top grade muso's including Tim Shaw, Mal Eastick, Ben Little, Angry Tradesmen (with Rob Hirst and Martin Rotsey from Midnight Oil and The Radiators. In 2008, Talking Comics with Dazz and Gazz hit the airwaves and collected them the Best Comedy Program at the 2009 Antenna Awards in Melbourne.www.dazzandgazz.com
